St. George Community Church Bylaws and Constitution
We believe our community and surrounding area will be transformed for God's glory as an ever increasing number of people are connected to Christ and focus their lives on loving God, loving others, and serving the world. We believe God is moving in our midst and that we are experiencing a "wave" of God's grace and Spirit as we witness God changing lives and opening doors and opportunities in our community.
Jesus was once asked what the greatest commandment was. He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Mt. 22:38). God is calling us to love Him and glorify Him with our total being. We believe God is not some distant, removed, impersonal force. God is great and He is good and He is deserving of our love and affection. St.George Community Church seeks to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus, loving Him more and more as they journey through life.
- Jesus teaches that the second greatest commandment is this: ”You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Mt. 22:39). We believe that followers of Jesus must love the world. We must consider others greater than ourselves. In a self-centered, me-pleasing society, this is not easy to do. It will cost us our time, energy, and resources. However, we are never more like God than when we love others sacrificially. We believe the greatest act of love is sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ with the world.
Serve the World
- Being a part of a church is much bigger than one hour on Sundays. God has called us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Mt. 28:19-20). If we intend to fulfill these instructions (and we do!), we cannot live out our faith as spectators. Each person must use their God-given gifts to proclaim the love of Christ to the world around them. St.George Community Church is committed to a vision of proclaiming Christ locally and globally.
